MAJOR AREAS OF RESEARCH INTEREST:
Dr. Freund is a member of the faculty of the Center for Native American Cardiology at the University of Arizona and a staff cardiologist at the University of Arizona. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Freund completed his internship at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine Hospital and his internal medicine residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Freund completed his cardiology fellowship training at Chicago Medical School/Finch University and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Freund was an Assistant Professor at Wrightstate University in Ohio. He was also in private practice in Ohio before recently joining the staff at the University of Arizona 's Native American Cardiology Program. Dr. Freund is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Freund's research interests include nuclear cardiology and the management of acute coronary syndromes in Native Americans.
