MAJOR AREAS OF RESEARCH INTEREST:
Clinical therapeutics of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma:
New therapeutic approaches to patients with localized aggressive forms of non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas have been a focus at the University of Arizona for many years. In addition, multiple studies of reversing acquired resistance in patients who relapsed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma using chemosensitizers have been carried out.
Protein surface chemistry and prognosis:
Multiple previous studies and ongoing research into the importance of cell surface chemistry with regards to prognosis and potential insights for developing novel therapy have been explored. The biology of the proteins investigated has included cell proliferation, cell trafficking throughout the body, host response and multi-drug resistance.
STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH RESEARCH:
Multiple opportunities for projects exist:
Designing and writing new therapeutic trials Analysis of existing data relating cell surface chemistry and outcome Multiple clinical projects requiring library investigation and manuscript preparation.
