Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH, Zürich, 1995 (Dr. sc. Tech. /Ph.D., Biomedical Engineering)

HONORS/AWARDS:

Swiss National Science Foundation (100%), Fiberoptic Probes for in vivo Spectroscopy, 1995-1996
Swiss Foundation for Medical Biological Scholarships (100%), Optical Spectroscopy for Ovarian Cancer Screening, 1997- 1998

MAJOR AREAS OF RESEARCH INTEREST:

Dr. Utzinger’s research focuses is on the development of optical techniques for the early diagnosis of tissue pathologies and monitoring of drug activity. The research group’s vision is to develop new technologies for tissue assessment that will increase performance of diagnosis, that are cost-effective, and that will increase access to health care.
